Conferences:
Critter
Care Conferences: Farm Sanctuary hosts its popular shelter
training conference for people interested in starting, operating
and developing farm animal shelters. Our intensive two-day
seminar includes basic shelter administration, shelter fundraising
and shelter media/outreach programs. Participants also receive
farm animal care training including basic health care needs,
proper restraint techniques and animal housing and facilities
design. Participants also have an option to work directly
with the shelter staff on days before or after the conferences
to get direct, hands-on experience working on the shelter.

Internships:
The Farm Sanctuary Internship Program is a unique opportunity
to work at Farm Sanctuary's shelters for abused and neglected
farm animals. Every year, Farm Sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates
hundreds of former food animal victims, ranging from veal
calves to turkeys. Since the Sanctuaries are volunteer-based
shelters, the Interns are a vital part of this important work
and directly contribute to our efforts to stop farm animal
abuse. Sanctuary Interns literally save lives, and teach hundreds
of people that farm animals are animals too. Internships are
open to all individuals 16 years or older. The most important
qualification is a strong commitment to animal rights, and
an interest in working directly with animals. Also a personal
commitment to vegetarianism is a must. Interns work a full-time
(40 hour) five-day a week schedule. The minimum commitment
for the program is one month.
Interns are needed at Farm Sanctuary's Orland, CA and Watkins
Glen, NY shelters. For more information and an online internship
application, please click
